Wonderful insights. This makes me think back to my days of taking Shiloh to obedience class at a local, long-standing training facility. Every new client had to purchase a prong color for their dogs. I didn't think anything of it because my parents had used a prong collar on our family dog. I took Shiloh to an AKC agility event to have her measured. They admonished me for bringing her in with a prong collar, yet competing at that event were the trainers who taught Shiloh's AKC-based obedience classes. Some people get the memo, read it, and react to it. Others toss the memo in the trash. I won't go back to that training facility now that I know they are tossers.
Gosh, how strange to have those trainers competing in the same event. It's good that things have changed so much in dog training, but a shame that there is still a long way to go!
